Iconic: Little Symbols, Big Possibilities

In this interactive talk we will discuss how icons are used as part of the user’s journey from product to marketing: how they are created, their purpose, and how you can give your users the best possible experience by learning to use them well. We will dig into SVG, Less/Sass, font glyphs and where to find them, color theory as it relates to user experience, and real-world examples of good and bad use of icons in product design.

Speaker's Bio: 

Ms Lee Jordan (blog http://www.leesjordanstudio.com/blog/) is a Senior Web and Graphic Designer at Cisco. She will talk about creating memorable designs that work for business: web sites, brand materials, infographics, trade show exhibits, and illustrations. Her specialties and interests are: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Interactive and mobile design, HTML5, JavaScript, usability, CSS3, PHP, hand-coding.
