The recruitment landscape has evolved from a word-of-mouth strategy to a proactive, strategic process. The rapid development of data science has made available several tools and strategies to provide a personalized job search experience for both the job seeker and the job provider. CareerBuilder is a global, end-to-end human capital solutions company focused on helping employers find, hire, and manage great talent. This talk will focus on the use of data science at CareerBuilder towards developing comprehensive pre-hire and post-hire solutions including Entity Resolution, Normalization, Recommendation, etc.

Speaker's Bio: 

Janani Balaji is a data scientist with the Applied Machine Learning group at CareerBuilder, where she works on applying machine-learning and data-mining techniques to solve challenging problems on a big data scale for the recruitment domain. She obtained her Ph.D. in computer science from Georgia State University in 2016, where her thesis focused on graph mining, graph querying, and distributed graph databases.
