Microsoft Azure - Why you should learn cloud-native application development

Most people now agree that the cloud has become a core element of any enterprise’s technology strategy. Indeed, in the past few years we have seen the conversation around cloud adoption move from “if” to “when” and “how.” It is, in short, a fact of life. Nevertheless, it remains one of the most disruptive changes in computing in years, and it is worth reviewing what makes the cloud so compelling to enterprise IT. During this session, we will go over different cloud trends (Private, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Hybrid) and how each of the large cloud providers planning to capture the cloud market. Furthermore, we will talk a tour of Azure and how you could quickly take a concept to code, and from there to an enterprise grade product.



Speaker's Bio: 

Ben joined Microsoft in June 2016 as an Azure cloud solution architect focusing on migrating applications to Azure cloud platform. Previously, he worked as an OpenStack cloud solution architect focusing on open source container technologies. Before joining HPE, Ben worked as a Senior Security Consultant for several companies. Ben earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with minor in Information Systems. He also was awarded a Master of Science in Information Systems from Kennesaw State University. He also graduated in May 2014 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Coles College of Business. Ben has several peer-reviewed publications, including a refereed book chapter on Mobile Health Technology in the US: Current Status and Unrealized Scope. Ben’s hobby is going to CrossFit and watching Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley.
